3 Hacks To Better Hair For Pennies

You'll be glad you read this... we've sourced 3 ingenious celeb hair tips that will cost you pennies but will have the effect of a celebrity hair stylist's touch... happy reading!

OK, I’m certain you’ve noticed how gorgeous Blake Lively’s blonde mane is. Even Rapunzel would question the loveliness of her own hair if she had stumbled upon Blake Lively. Thankfully, her hair secret comes from a good old, inexpensive tip she got from her mum. In an interview with US beauty website Byrdie, the hot mama shared that “My mom…used to put oil or mayonnaise on the bottom half of her hair before she would shower. That way, when she would shampoo, the soap wouldn’t strip the bottom of her hair and dry it out, making it brittle.” There you have it, luscious locks courtesy of your food cupboard and fridge!

Another little tip we found gives a helping hand to the girls with thin hair like moi. Dry shampoo is a saviour. It keeps your hair volumous and texturised so it doesn’t end up sticking to your scalp. The trick is to spray it onto your roots and mid-lengths after you’ve styled your hair, rather than the day after washing. It turns out that it works better as a preventative. Take a peek at the video below for a quick tutorial.

This is a savvy tip that we’ve recently come across... using a matte eyebrow powder or contour powder similar to your hair shade on your hairline and parting. Trust me, it’s genius! It instantly makes your hair look fuller in a matter of seconds by filling in the gaps, making it look like you have more hair than you actually do... no sparse spots in sight! Using a contour or small blush brush lightly apply the contour powder  to the parts of your hairling that need a bit of filling, but make sure to keep the powder behind the hairline, you don’t want your face to be shaded otherwise it won’t look natural.
